A computer or printer that is only used for one particular job. If you have a network, you might find that you do a lot of printing or that you need to store a large number of files. In this case it would make sense to set aside one computer as a dedicated PC that only looks after printing or storage. The dedicated PC would not be used except for printing over a network. A dedicated terminal, for example, would be used to enter one type of data such as stock control or to type letters. It would not be used for anything else.
